From June 25th to 26th, 2020, ITQ GmbH is organizing the 1. Packaging Valley Makeathon in cooperation with the two packaging clusters Packaging Valley Germany e.V. (PV) and Packaging Excellence Region Stuttgart (PEC). Together with Young Talents, they want to use the Remote Makeathon to develop innovative solutions to combat the corona crisis. Interested students and technology enthusiasts will receive further information on registration at Packaging Valley Makeathon Homepage.
The corona epidemic has demonstrated the actual status of digitization in many areas of business and society. Packaging machine manufacturers are also challenged in a new way by the situation of travel restrictions, measures to prevent the virus from spreading and the restrictions on commissioning and service. At the same time, the products and services of the industry are massively needed to ensure the supply of food and pharmaceutical products to the population.
As part of the 1. Remote Packaging Valley Makeathon, the focus is on what further development potential the industry has in the area of digitization and mechatronics, what consequences can be derived from the corona crisis in this regard and how sustainable packaging technology can be advanced through digitization and mechatronics.
The Makeathon takes place remotely, in different locations. Challenges from the areas of maintenance and remote maintenance, artificial intelligence, online acceptance of machines, VR and AR, digital twin as well as change processes towards increasing digitization can be processed.
