Easy scalability and optimised utilisation
The KIRO (AI-based robotic applications) research project is dedicated to simplifying the implementation of robotic applications. By reducing the amount of specialist knowledge required, as well as the workload and time involved, the aim is to enable companies to quickly and easily deploy and scale a wide range of robotic applications cost-effectively in high-variety production in the future.
ITQ GmbH is responsible for designing the development framework for robotics applications and for ensuring a structured approach from a mechatronics perspective.
The consortium comprises four companies (Conti Temic microelectronic GmbH, ITQ GmbH, KABTEC AG, Rohde & Schwarz Messgerätebau GmbH), two associate partners (Roboception GmbH, Yaskawa Europe GmbH) and the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) at the Technical University of Munich.

KIRO is a research project focused on the AI-based development of robotic applications, with the aim of significantly simplifying their creation and deployment.
It reduces the need for specialist knowledge, as well as the time and effort required to develop robotic solutions for production.
Companies can develop robotic applications more quickly, deploy them more flexibly and scale them more cost-effectively – even in production environments with a wide variety of product variants.
