From 14th until 21st of August 2019<\/strong> ITQ is holding the first of two summercamps<\/strong> in Maspalomas on Gran Canaria<\/strong>. The motto of the first camp is \u201cBamboo Solar Car\u201d<\/strong> which aims to built the third stage of a prototype of an electric vehicle that generates electricity by using solar cells. The vehicle will be designed for African needs and consist of easy-to-procure and sustainable materials, such as bamboo<\/strong>. A team of eight international students<\/strong> will work on this project.<\/p>\n

The next step will be to build further prototypes in Botswana in November 2019<\/strong> within the frame-work of a makeathon and to train the local community in building similar cars.<\/p>\n

The second summercamp<\/strong> with the motto \"Removal of plastics from the ocean and the environment\"<\/strong> will take place in September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/span>
